Who Is Dark Storm

Dark Storm Team, the pro-Palestinian hacking group, has claimed responsibility for the recent cyberattack that caused widespread outages on X, formerly Twitter. The group, which emerged in 2023, is known for its advanced cyber warfare tactics and successful breaches of high-security systems.

Dark Storm Team’s attacks are politically motivated, with a focus on targeting entities linked to Israel. Last month, the group pledged to launch cyberattacks on NATO government websites, Israeli infrastructure, and nations supporting Israel.

X(formerly Twitter) Outages

The latest attack on X, which occurred earlier today, led to two major outages, causing significant disruptions. Downdetector recorded over 40,000 reports during the second outage, with a peak of 29,143 reports during the ongoing outage. Although the number of reports has slightly declined, users continue to experience issues accessing the platform.

In response, Elon Musk, X’s owner, called the “incident one of the largest and most sophisticated cyberattacks the platform has ever faced.”

The outage has prompted a surge in interest for BlueSky, a rival social media platform. Google Trends data shows that searches for BlueSky have more than doubled since the outages began, with users flocking to alternative platforms as X remains unstable.

Stay tuned for updates as the situation develops.
